2. Categories of personal data processed
HQCC only processes personal data that visitors provide voluntarily through the website, for the following purposes:
- data submitted via the contact form;
- data submitted in partner applications;
- data submitted for newsletter subscription;
- website-visit and technical data (cookies, analytics).
3. Contact form
Purpose: responding to the visitor's enquiry, contact and communication.
Data: name, email address, organisation (optional), content of the message.
Legal basis: consent — Article 6(1)(a) GDPR; or pre-contractual measures — Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where applicable.
Retention: up to 2 years from closing the enquiry, unless a longer statutory retention applies.
4. Partner applications
Purpose: registering partner expressions of interest, initial contact, preparing potential cooperation.
Data: contact name, email, phone (optional), organisation, role, description of the proposed cooperation.
Legal basis: pre-contractual measures — Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; otherwise consent — Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Retention: for the duration of any resulting contract and the statutory limitation period; otherwise up to 2 years.
5. Newsletter subscription
Purpose: sending an informational and thematic newsletter about HQCC's activities, events and Hungarian and international quantum and AI developments.
Data: name, email address, organisation (optional), subscription date and technical metadata (confirmation timestamp, unsubscribe token).
Legal basis: the visitor's explicit, freely given consent — Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, together with Section 6 of Hungarian Act XLVIII of 2008 on the basic requirements of commercial advertising.
Retention: until consent is withdrawn. Unsubscription is free at any time via the link in the newsletter footer or by emailing info@hqcc.hu.
Profiling: no automated decision-making or profiling is performed.
6. Website analytics and cookies
HQCC uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, ensure security and analyse traffic. Non-essential cookies are activated only with the visitor's prior consent given via the cookie banner displayed on first load.
- Strictly necessary cookies: required for basic website operation, session management and security. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure operation).
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited): anonymous analysis of visits and user behaviour. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). Google's policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Consent can be withdrawn at any time, and stored cookies can be deleted from the browser. Disabling strictly necessary cookies may affect site functionality.
7. Data processors
HQCC uses the following processors, who act only on documented instructions:
- Rackhost Zrt. — website hosting; info@rackhost.hu
- Google Ireland Limited — website analytics (Google Analytics)
- Newsletter / transactional email provider — delivery of newsletters and transactional emails
Where a processor transfers data outside the EU, HQCC ensures appropriate safeguards under Chapter V GDPR (e.g. EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
8. Retention periods
- Contact form: up to 2 years after the enquiry is closed.
- Partner applications: duration of contract plus limitation period; otherwise 2 years.
- Newsletter: until consent is withdrawn.
- Cookies / analytics: per the cookie's lifetime, up to 24 months; Google Analytics per Google's retention policy.
- Legal claims: general 5-year limitation period under the Hungarian Civil Code.

Requests can be submitted to info@hqcc.hu. HQCC will respond without undue delay and at the latest within one month; this period may be extended by two further months where necessary, with prior notice to the data subject.
